Patients could be admitted to hospital for many reasons, including "jealousy, remorse, and disappointment love." But many other reasons for admission were much more serious. Alberta Sue Drummond Keene's great grandfather "had an accident on ice on a horse and hit his head" and was taken to the hospital. He died there on April 10, 1939.
